Leading the Way in Nurse Education: Dr. Rachael Major at the RCN Education Conference 2024

14 March 2025

We’re incredibly proud that Dr. Rachael Major, our own Chair of the RCN Education Forum, will be leading the way in Glasgow!

The RCN Education Conference is one of the biggest events in the nursing education calendar, bringing together professionals from across the UK to shape the future of learning and development in nursing. This year, we’re incredibly proud that Dr. Rachael Major, our own Chair of the RCN Education Forum, will be leading the way in Glasgow!

Since becoming Chair in January 2024, Rachael has played a pivotal role in shaping discussions around nurse education, equality, and professional development. At this year’s conference, she’ll be:

✅ Opening and closing the event as Chair of the Forum
✅ Introducing and chairing the first keynote speaker
✅ Participating in a panel discussion on neurodiversity in nurse education
✅ Presenting her own research on an e-learning package designed to support and assess neurodivergent students
✅ Delivering an address at a civic reception at the Glasgow City Chambers

With last year’s conference drawing over 440 delegates, this year’s event promises to be just as impactful. As Rachael steps into this vital leadership role, we’re excited to see her continue championing the future of nurse education.

Her work doesn’t stop there! Rachael has been instrumental in national initiatives, from updating the definition of nursing and career frameworks to advocating for better support for neurodivergent nurses and students. She’s also been actively working to address the current crisis in the nurse education workforce, collaborating with the RCN and key organizations to develop solutions.

💬 Wish Rachael luck and let’s celebrate this milestone!
